A safe preparation target is to maintain more than 35 WPM net speed with high accuracy.
What Counts as a Typing Mistake?

These include spelling mistakes, wrong words, missing words, extra words, repeated words, punctuation mistakes, incorrect capital letters, missing spaces, extra spaces, wrong numbers, wrong symbols and skipped words. For example, if the original passage contains “India” and the candidate types “india”, it may be treated as a case mistake. Similarly, if a full stop, comma or hyphen is missing, it may also be counted as an error depending on the evaluation rule.
Accuracy and Error Tolerance
Accuracy is a very important factor in the SSB HCM English Typing Skill Test. This practice software shows total errors, error percentage and accuracy percentage after completion of the test. A 5% error tolerance option is provided for practice, but candidates should always try to keep accuracy at 95% or above. Lower accuracy can reduce the net speed and may affect the final pass or fail status. How to Prepare for SSB HCM English Typing
